Since last May 27 to June 12 now we can enjoy one of the most anticipated events of the year, book fair 2011. For this edition the guest country was Germany, within the framework of the German weeks which are held between the months of April and June, whose main objective is to promote German culture in Spain. As every year the Royal family gave the starting signal of the Madrid book fair. Princess Elena de Borbon was presented with several new publications, among which the lost angel (Javier Sierra, planet) and maya notebook (Isabel Allende, Plaza & Janes), without forgetting the eco acquired by the French author Stephane Hessel books. Another of the major attractions of the Madrid book fair are traditional signatures of the writers, as well as numerous cultural activities that are carried out in the same, in the different pavilions. Traditional houses of the fair hosting the expected meeting between writers and their readers, we can highlight the presence of Eduard Punset which, as every year, brings together thousands of followers, and which signed copies of his work at the Casa del Libro bookshop 55 stand. The world of the book puts their hopes at the retreat, since sales have fallen between January and April between a 10 and 20 percent, and desire is that the fair will help overcome the losses.
